Surgery. It takes between 2 and 3 hours under general anesthesia. The surgeon removes excess skin and moves nipple and areola in the new position. Then he forms a new contour of the breast and joins tissues by special stitches. If the breast is lowered not so much, the stitches are left around and at the side of the nipple. If the breast is lowered greatly, the stitches spread from areola vertically down till the line under the breast and inside of line itself.
Rehabilitation. Pain sensations are passing off in 1-2 weeks. The dressings will be removed in 5-7 days. During a month, you are to wear special bra. It takes a week for the desired shape of breast to take effect after the surgery. Afterwards the shape can be changed depending on hormonal shifts, weight fluctuation, and pregnancy. Quite frequently mastopexy and endoprosthesis replacement are performed at the same time.
